This is the 2nd phase of the Community Library project started in 2014. The 1st phase was completed in Rémir and Dans Bébé and the 2nd phase is completed in Roseaux, Corail Petite Butte and now in Batatrand. The setting up of the 5 Community Libraries has been financed through Emtel CSR funds.

Emtel is fully committed towards children’s education. The Community libraries are here to give easy access to books, reference documents and ICT facilities, cultural activities and remedial classes.Through this project Emtel wants to encourage children to read, to develop their creativity and talent and their interest in studies. This is the only way to decrease the rate of schools drop-outs at CPE level, to fight social exclusion and produce responsible adults.

The Emtel team was also at Trevor Huddleston Association in Camp du Roi on Friday 19 February for a donation of tablets and braillers to Gonzague Pierre Louis Special Learning Centre. The school looks after children with disabilities and learning difficulties. These educational equipment will enable the children to make use of technology to better cope with their studies. Emtel is also supporting the School by funding its running costs.Emtel has been supporting the Gonzague Pierre Louis Special Learning Centre in the past. Emtel has helped to replace the obsolete hearing aids of the children with digital hearing aids and has donated some other teaching materials.
