Fostering Green Energy
July 2020 - Photovoltaic panels installed at CPMD (3 kW), Emtel (5 kW), MC Vision (17 kW) and Currimjee Head office (3.2 kW). Le Chaland Resort Village also invested in 60 Photovoltaic solar lightings (2,400 W), for the region of La Cambuse.

July 2020 - Rainwater harvesting systems implemented at Batimex, CPMD, Currimjee Head office, Emtel and MC Vision for cleaning, gardening and for connection to washrooms. 701,000 Litres of rainwater has been collected and used in 2019.

July 2020 - The Currimjee Group adopts the 4R (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). In 2019, 4.4 Tons of paper and 30 Tons of E-waste from business units were recycled. A national e-waste recycling program for the public was launched in May 2019 by Emtel.

July 2020 - The UNESCO Sandwatch Programme aims to raise awareness on climate change and involves the study of coastal erosion. Currimjee Foundation has been promoting this initiative in secondary schools since 2018, with NGO “Association pour le Developpement Durable”.

July 2020 - The Currimjee Foundation and IKO Mauritius Resort Village Ltd have partnered with the NGO Reef Conservation. Through this collaboration, 475 person including Currimjee staffs benefited from awareness sessions via the ‘Bis la mer’, a mobile classroom.

July 2020 - Compagnie Immobilière Limitée (CIL) is included in the SEMSI since 2015, a national performance evaluation framework promoting sustainability, good governance and transparency. CIL obtained a score of 91% for Environmental criteria in 2019.
