- Sustainable Development : New modern glass bottling line of Quality Beverages Ltd
Quality Beverages Ltd (QBL) is committed to the implementation of a strategic reflection, which involves a complete rationalization of its industrial sites. And, an essential element of this strategy is the investment in a new glass bottling line, replacing the old equipment, some of which dated from the 1970s. Operational since mid-November, the official inauguration of the new glass line. The traffic jam, located in a newly constructed building at QBL’s head office in Belle-Rose, was made by the Minister of the Environment, Solid Waste Management and Climate Change, Kavi Ramano, on Thursday, December 16, in the presence of Azim Currimjee and Inigo De Prado, respectively Managing Director and CEO of Quality Beverages Ltd, as well as other members of the management.
The implementation of the new glass bottling line, at the cutting edge of technology, required an investment of around Rs 220 million. This will allow the company to significantly improve the efficiency of its operations, reducing costs associated with production and increasing the productivity of the workforce. This new infrastructure, intelligently designed and respectful of the environment, will also contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals.
These objectives are in line with the vision of the Currimjee Group, of which QBL is a part, in terms of sustainable development. “We are firmly committed to managing all our activities and projects in a sustainable manner, with respect for the environment and in order to leave a solid legacy to future generations. The installation of the new bottling line, in fact, has many advantages. “It allows the use of paper labels, unlike initially painting, decreases the use of plastic considerably and promotes innovation in new products and new formats”, explains Inigo De Prado, CEO of QBL.
