- Intelligence by Design - Embedding AI in organizational Strategy
Opening the session, Dhiren Ponnusamy, Managing Director Designate of the Currimjee Group, highlighted the importance of making AI part of today’s leadership discussions to help future-proof the organisation. He reflected on the Group’s long-standing legacy of building strong businesses and brands through strong values and talented people, while stressing that legacy is also shaped by the decisions made today to prepare for tomorrow. In this context, he emphasised how generative technologies can create value while remaining aligned with the Group’s values.
Throughout the morning, Mahan shared insights from his experience and challenged the Leadership Team to rethink how organisations operate, lead, and create value in an AI-driven world. Discussions explored how businesses are already integrating AI, as well as the small but meaningful changes that can progressively drive transformation when AI is adopted intentionally.
The session also focused on organisational readiness for AI, leadership adaptability, decision-making in uncertain environments, and the importance of creating psychologically safe cultures that encourage experimentation and learning.
One key message stood out: succeeding in the age of AI does not require overnight disruption. Instead, organisations must progressively build adaptability through experimentation, continuous learning, agility, and scenario thinking. This calls for a shift in leadership mindset — from stability to adaptability, and from predictable thinking to a more flexible, learning-oriented approach.
Ultimately, the conversation reinforced that while AI can accelerate capability, scale, and intelligence, people, leadership, culture, and accountable decision-making remain at the heart of every organisation.
