The Currimjee Foundation has launched a new phase of its coral reef rehabilitation project in the south of Mauritius. This phase comprises an extension of the current coral farm on a larger scale in order to promote nature-based solutions to the effects of climate change, the preservation of marine biodiversity and also food and employment security. This project benefits from the expertise of the NGO Eco Mode Society, the support of Anantara IKO Mauritius and the financial assistance of the British High Commission. The new phase was launched on February 17, 2023, where coral fragments on artificial structures were placed in La Cambuse lagoon, in the presence of HE Charlotte Pierre, British High Commissioner, as well as fishermen and skippers from the region.
